It is becoming increasingly difficult to search for the perfect Halloween costume, or to find the right pieces for your cosplay. With Halloween stores dedicated to costumes closing down, the one company left standing is Spirit Halloween, with their overpriced and cheaply-made costume packages and mask designs copied off of true mask makers. At Vampire Faction, we bring back authenticity to the craftsmanship of costumes and masks without price gouging and ignoring the needs of customers. Quality Doesn’t Sacrifice
Unlike Spirit Halloween and many other Halloween stores, who do not care about the quality of their products, Vampire Faction puts effort into creating quality costumes and masks.

It should be said that creating quality at scale is by no means easy, but we don’t do what we do because it is easy, we do it because people deserve better. They don’t deserve terribly made products made by corporations that are overrun by Wall Street looking to make a quick buck. They deserve products for the people, by the people.
Affordability
Vampire Faction has decided to be a Halloween store that is willing to sacrifice more profit for the sake of the customer.
What does this mean?
So Spirit Halloween sells you products with poor quality, and they charge an arm and a leg for it?! How does that make any sense?! They must really not like their customers. But our philosophy at the Vampire Faction is completely different. We love Halloween and all the wonderful occasions where you need to dress up and express yourself. So we firmly believe that everyone, no matter how budget-conscious, should be able to participate in Halloween with a quality costume.
But as we mentioned before, quality isn’t easy to do, let alone quality that’s affordable. So, we have a couple of ways we are able to do what we do. The first is our Jugaad mindset. “Jugaad” is a Indian school of thought that embraces non-conventional and frugal innovation. In other words, doing a lot with less. So simply put, we utilize our human creativity to design our products with very unique techniques that create the effects we’re looking for while also having the speed and repeatability to scale.
For instance, with our masks we love using a technique called “stipple sponging.” Let’s say we’re making a skull mask. We first start with a black base so the whole mask is just plain black. Then, we take a sponge and dip it in white paint and gently pat the surface of the mask over and over again. The white only gets applied to the surface where it can reach and leaves details and crevices black. This way were able to create dark and interesting detail without having to spend a long time on each unit which in turn saves our customers money. Such a technique can be demonstrated on our Pumpkin half-mask shown below:

We Are Here For You All Year
Vampire Faction is a Halloween store that is available all year round, not just during the Halloween season.
What does this mean?
Part of Spirit Halloween’s strategy that keeps them afloat is that they do not have permanent locations for their brick-and-mortar stores. Rather, they find vacant locations to temporarily lease for a few months during the Halloween season, and then they leave, according to Brooklyn Kiosow. This strategy illustrates how Spirit Halloween takes advantage of not only struggling business but also the holiday itself for a quick cash grab.
But that’s the thing, what if you need a costume when Spirit isn’t in town? Or if Spirit’s selection isn’t that great? Or you need other costume, fabric, special physical effects (SPFX) make-up, or mask related goods? That’s why the Vampire Faction is open all year round to help not only our Halloween costumers, but also everyone who wants to dress their best for any occasion.
I found that when I wanted to think about my Halloween costume ahead of time, it was difficult to find something early because Spirit Halloween only opens closer to Halloween, like in August or September. Though a couple of months seems good enough to plan for a Halloween costume, I prefer to wear elaborate designs. I personally have never been satisfied with the designs that Spirit Halloween provides, so if I want anything, I must make my own costume from scratch. It would be nice if Spirit Halloween were open more than just a couple of months so that I do not feel rushed when trying to plan out my Halloween costume. This is the sort of situation Vampire Faction plans to solve by being open all year round.
